☾ How’s Your Solar Plexus Chakra?

Hi again, back with the third instalment about our chakras, today I will be writing about The Solar Plexus chakra.

I have already written about The Root Chakra and The Sacral Chakra, so if you haven’t read them yet, definitely go and give them a read!

So, what is a chakra? Chakra (cakra in Sanskrit) means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. The major chakras are energy centres located along the spine. Seven chakras run from the base of the spine to the top of your head. These energy centres are responsible for the balance in our emotional and physical self. The energies of the chakras also affect how events happen in our reality.

So why is it important to cleanse your chakras? Having balanced chakras (or imbalanced ones) can impact all areas of your life. Chakras are receptors and emitters. They receive and give back energy. You will receive the same frequency of energy back from the world that you emit.

When one of the chakras is not in balance, it may shrink in size and the other chakras will expand more than they need to, to make up for the shortfall of energies. This misalignment of the chakra energy centres can create mayhem in the flow of energies and can manifest with into lots of spiritual and physical problems. So, it’s so important to keep all the chakras cleansed, balanced and free of any continuous negative influences.

The Solar Plexus

The Solar Plexus rules a person’s self-esteem and is the centre of personal strength, confidence, learning and comprehension. Your Solar Plexus chakra guides you through life by creating a strong sense of self, setting personal boundaries and building self-esteem and willpower. The ability to bring change into your life and to the world is born within this Chakra. It is located two inches above the belly button up to the breastbone.

The Sanskrit for the Solar Plexus chakra is ‘Manipura’.

Yellow is the predominant colour associated with the solar plexus chakra.

When imbalanced, it can create a lack of strength and weakened willpower. If you have an imbalanced Solar Plexus chakra you can also experience digestive issues and tiredness.

When in balance you will have positive energy, confidence, emotional strength and strong willpower.
