Autumn Equinox

Hello! Welcome to our first Equinox blog where we are going to cover off everything related to the upcoming Autumn Equinox, its spiritual relativity, what this means for you and how you can align yourself and adapt to the changes throughout this time! This is such a beautiful and comforting time of year as we begin to see the changes in the world and landscape around us. Our senses comes alive and adapt to the changing expanse, the air becomes chillier, the leaves change colour and the sky moves with the changing of the light. Many people move through the seasons of the earth as they come and go unaware of the impact this has on us, naturally these pivotal points in time create an energy shift within us as humans of the planet and people of the earth, so this is a crucial time for us to understand what is going on around us and what is going on within us and this is where we hope to guide you through that make the most of this beautiful but ever evolving time.
What is an Equinox?
The word “equinox” comes from Latin and means “equal night,” referring to the roughly 12-hour day and 12-hour night that occurs only on the two equinox days of the year. On the equinox we honour the balance and interaction of the light and the dark, and we may feel gratitude for the changes that come with the passing of time as we reflect on what has been and the time we are moving out of, including looking forward into what is coming up for us. This is an exciting time for growth as we take comfort moving into the new season.
What is the Spiritual relativity? Spiritually speaking, autumn represents the harvest time of year, a time to acknowledge growth and expansion as a natural evolution of our organic being. Our lives go through cycles of growth, harvest, death, and rebirth just as we see in nature. On the Fall Equinox you may want to reflect and celebrate all that you have in your life and shift your energetic state and mindset from one of lack or worry, to one of prosperity and gratitude in some way through a small ritual or journaling practice. You can follow rituals very similar to ones of the Full Moon including, cleansing your space, lighting a candle, journaling, or speaking your gratitude, and meditating.
How can I align with the changes of the Equinox?
The significance of the Autumnal Equinox for the person walking the spiritual path is the time of year where we activate our new cycle of growth. As we become silent and rest we are allowing space for our greater vision to emerge. At the time of the equinox a great ritual to complete it to go outside and meditate in nature, spend time grounding yourself by walking barefoot through the grass/earth or take 10 minutes to sit in stillness, in the quiet, surrounded by the evolving nature as you too, evolve and grow into the next phase. Open your senses to the natural wonders around you, feel the air on your face, take deep breathes of fresh cool air and acknowledge the changes within you as you connect to mother nature.
At this time you can talk through affirmations in your mind or out loud as you choose;
I am one with the light
I am one with the darkness
I acknowledge both the light and the darkness within me
I am growing and evolving always
I am one with the earth, nature and the elements
Mother nature is supporting me always
I acknowledge my growth as I evolve with the earth
I release all that no longer serves me
I am moving into a new phase of my life
I am evolving my energy
As we move into this new phase, this new time of year and this new energetic shift takes place, we release all the energy that no longer serves us and re-root ourselves, opening up space for the new, the potential, the growth and by re-rooting ourselves, make space for our creativity and visions to grow, for our emotions and to continue our spiritual path. This time of year allows us to hibernate and take shelter, quiet and comfort as the animals do, and in so, we take the rest we need and regenerate in our safe spaces, in our homes and our internal sanctuary. This internal too, fuels our creativity and gives us time to cultivate those seeds we have planted ready to blossom.
I encourage you to take some time in September, around the equinox if you can, to reflect on this year so far, all you have achieved and all you have overcome. Your precious time on this earth, your life cycle and spiritual path. By doing this, you are honouring all of the growth you have already undertaken and also the growth of many generations before us, many phases of the earth. “I honour the light in you that is the love of all things, without your existence the light of the Universe would dim and all of existence would miss you.”
Love & Light
